** When an employee is required to work on a Holiday that falls on a Monday through Friday, the employee shall be paid double the hourly rate and (1) hour benefits for every hour paid. When an employee is required to work on a holiday which falls on a Sunday the employee shall be paid three (3) times the hourly rate and one (1) hour benefits for every hour worked. When an employee is required to work on a holiday which falls on a Saturday the employee shall be paid two and a half (2.5) times the hourly rate and one hour benefits for every hour worked.

Work over eight hours in a day or more than five days in a week is overtime at "a premium wage commensurate with the premium wages prevailing in the area" (Labor Law §220(2)). Each trade's rules are NYSDOL codes, copied here; they combine, so we don't compute overtime dollars.

When does this rate change?

New York rates aren't locked at bid. Each rate stays until its next printed effective date or the new annual determination on July 1, and contractors must pay the current rate (Article 8 schedules).
NYSDOL posts error corrections and updates on the first business day of each month, and contractors pay them "retroactive to July 1" (NYSDOL). This page uses the 2026-27 schedules with the October 1, 2026 updates.
