Electrician prevailing wage, Bridgeport group, Connecticut (55 towns)
CTDOL sets the same electrician rates, row for row, in 55 towns: Barkhamsted, Beacon Falls, Bethel, Bethlehem, Bridgeport, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Canaan, Colebrook, Cornwall, Danbury, Easton, Fairfield, Goshen, Hartland, Harwinton, Kent, Litchfield, Middlebury, Milford, Monroe, Morris, Naugatuck, New Fairfield, New Hartford, New Milford, Newtown, Norfolk, North Canaan, Norwalk, Oxford, Prospect, Redding, Ridgefield, Roxbury, Salisbury, Seymour, Sharon, Shelton, Sherman, Southbury, Stratford, Thomaston, Torrington, Trumbull, Warren, Washington, Waterbury, Watertown, Weston, Westport, Wilton, Winchester, Wolcott and Woodbury. Every figure on this page applies in each of them.
$86.97an hour, base wage + fringe benefits (our sum) · Electrical Worker
$50.00 base wage + $36.97 fringe benefits · Building
On Connecticut public works in each of these 55 towns, an electrician working as electrical worker must be paid at least $86.97 an hour: a $50.00 base wage plus $36.97 in benefits. CTDOL prints no total, so $86.97 is our sum of the two. Part of the benefit is a percentage of wages that this total leaves out, so treat it as a floor.
CTDOL schedules as of July 1, 2026; this rate, effective July 1, 2026. Rates are not fixed for the life of a contract: contractors must adjust wages and benefits every July 1 to CTDOL's new rates (CGS § 31-55a, as amended by PA 25-168). Checked against portal.ct.gov on October 25, 2026.
CTDOL lists 3 electrician rates for each of these towns, from $86.97 to $86.97 an hour. See all of them.
CTDOL's online rates are informational. The contracting agency gets a project schedule from CTDOL before advertising, and that schedule, in the bid documents, is the one that applies.
- CTDOL adds 3% of gross wage to the benefit; the total here leaves it out, so it is a floor.
Base wage and fringe benefits: $50.00 + $36.97
The base wage is the taxable hourly wage. CTDOL prints the benefits as one hourly figure, not itemized; it can go to health, pension, vacation and training plans, or be paid as cash where the state allows.
| Base wage (taxable) | $50.00 |
| Fringe benefits (one figure, not itemized) | $36.97 |
| Base + benefits (our sum; CTDOL prints no total) | $86.97 |
CTDOL's data note: base + dollar benefit only; CTDOL adds 3% of gross wage on top
When does this rate change?
- Connecticut re-rates contracts already under way. Each contractor must check with the Labor Commissioner by July 1 every year and adjust wages and benefits effective each July 1 (CGS § 31-55a, as amended by PA 25-168).
- This page uses CTDOL's schedules "As of: July 1, 2026". CTDOL can replace a schedule during the year to correct it; the Building schedule now carries a Bricklayers Zone A and B fringe correction (CTDOL prevailing wage).

Davis-Bacon electrician rates in these counties
The counties share CTDOL's rates, but not always the same federal wage determination. When a contract requires both the state rate and the Davis-Bacon rate, paying the higher of the two meets both. The contract documents say which apply.
