$87.72an hour, base + benefit · Electrical Worker
$50.25 wage + $37.47 benefits · Building
On Connecticut public works in each of these 70 towns, an electrician working as electrical worker must be paid at least $87.72 an hour: a $50.25 base wage plus $37.47 in benefits. CTDOL prints no total, so $87.72 is our sum of the two. Part of the benefit is a percentage of wages that this total leaves out, so treat it as a floor.
CTDOL schedules as of July 1, 2026; this rate, effective July 1, 2026. Rates are not fixed for the life of a contract: contractors must adjust wages and benefits every July 1 to CTDOL's new rates (CGS § 31-55a, as amended by PA 25-168). Checked against portal.ct.gov on October 25, 2026.
CTDOL lists 3 electrician rates for each of these towns, from $87.72 to $87.72 an hour. See all of them.
CTDOL's online rates are informational. The contracting agency gets a project schedule from CTDOL before advertising, and that schedule, in the bid documents, is the one that applies.
- CTDOL adds 3% of gross wage to the benefit; the total here leaves it out, so it is a floor.
Base wage and benefits: $50.25 + $37.47
The base wage is the taxable hourly wage. CTDOL prints the benefits as one hourly figure, not itemized; it can go to health, pension, vacation and training plans, or be paid as cash where the state allows.
| Base wage (taxable) | $50.25 |
| Fringe benefits (one figure, not itemized) | $37.47 |
| Base + benefits (our sum; CTDOL prints no total) | $87.72 |
CTDOL's data note: base + dollar benefit only; CTDOL adds 3% of gross wage on top
Davis-Bacon electrician rates in these counties
The counties share CTDOL's rates, but not always the same federal wage determination. When a contract requires both the state rate and the Davis-Bacon rate, paying the higher of the two meets both. The contract documents say which apply.

When this rate changes
- Connecticut re-rates contracts already under way. Each contractor must check with the Labor Commissioner by July 1 every year and adjust wages and benefits effective each July 1 (CGS § 31-55a, as amended by PA 25-168).
- This page uses CTDOL's schedules "As of: July 1, 2026". CTDOL can replace a schedule during the year to correct it; the Building schedule now carries a Bricklayers Zone A and B fringe correction (CTDOL prevailing wage).
